We are getting a new rom-com, just in time for the holidays, and the perk of this particular gift? It’s coming straight to Amazon Prime, from MGM and Amazon Studios.
“Merv”, starring Marvel “Daredevil” star Charlie Cox and Zooey Deschanel from the hit TV show “New Girl”. From director Jessica Swale. Director of “Summerland” and “Leading Lady Parts”.
The film follows a recently separated couple who take their shared dog on a holiday trip to cheer him up, but end up reconnecting romantically.
“Merv” marks the return of Deschanel to the genre of holiday films. After starring in the 2003 cult classic Christmas movie, “Elf” opposite Will Ferrell.
“I loved the story of a couple breaking up but sharing a dog — and then having to reunite to cure their dog’s melancholy,” the actress recently told People about the film. “It just was such a funny concept.”
The trailer is now available to watch via IMDb, or wherever you watch your trailers.
“Merv” will be hitting Prime’s streaming service on December 10th. Just in time for your holiday gathering.
